These days finished this little one, was easy and funny to work with:

A fast WIP for a Tie Droid.
Its a nice kit that can be found here: Scale Solutions

Its a 3 piece kit nice casted, with few mold lines:

A coat of primer:

And a black coat:

I painted with a clear red to give a "phantasmagorical" effect:

And casted some Tie cannons in resin:

Its time for the base, i decided for using some tuber for a motion idea:

I have to finish it soon because at the end of the month will start a state exhibition, so... lets walk...

Work a little more and finished the pilots (added some decals to the helmets):

More dry brushes:

A black coat to the speeder:

After, i added a white layer and airbrushed Future:

I decided to do a thin wash with MIG products:

And tried a technical to try to give a leak + velocity aspect:

STEP 1 - Some little dots with the wash solution

Finishing the turret, the MIG products are perfect for it:

And starting the speeder, the overall mounting is very easy and funny:

Hello friends,

I am coming back with a new diorama, this time will be a simple one. I will work with the 1/48 FM Snowspeeder and the Anti-Infantry-Battery (a wonderful kit mastered by FichtenFoo).

The AIB was nicely casted, no bubbles and some minor mold lines:

First will attach the cannon:

After that I painted like the FichtenFoo tutorial.
First a coat of Light Sea Grey:

After that, a coat of deck Tan:

Flat Black for some shading:

Another Deck Tan coat:

And finished with Future:

After some time to dry, I worked with hairspray and some scenario debris:

Now a Flat White coat:

And removed the debris with a toothbrush:

After a new Flat White coat the result was amazing:

Using a Dremel I drilled a cockpit, its a very awful work...

Painted with Tamyia Light Grey, a clear red for rockets and cannons:

Now I decided to do a new whole model, a scratch build from a Tie Raptor - from Star Wars Expanded Universe.

First, I created the wings:

For the body, I made a cast from REL Tie Defender with some mods:

These times I made some paint job at this little jewel, first a Tamiya neutral gray:

Some shading with a darker color:

I made the cockpit interior with a Retrokit Tie Detail Set and an original casted Tie Pilot from Fine Molds:

I was look enough to get a Sovereign Replicas tie defender and will work with it now.

The cast is perfect, with a nice resin and no bubbles:

The major problem is that the wings are not straight:

I made new cannons:

An external armature was necessary to work with the wings:

Now, straight as an arrow:

Before the little fins are ready i painted the Tie with Tamiya flat red and metallic gray:

I decided to make a rubber mold for the original wings (i used a pair of original ones to do the little lateral ones):

And glued two of original together:

A little work and...

A pin mark:

And worked well:

I started a new build, this time with a 1/72 V-Wing from Fantastic Plastics.

The cast is really poor, i think this is usual with SW FP stuff:

Paint tests

Hello Friends,

These days i made a little test using paints and some aging tries.

First a small plastic piece:

Some Gunze's Mr Surfacer 1200 Primer, its solved in thinner:

And a coat with Vallejo Model air, its solved in water (i have used distilled):

After that with a cotton stick soaked in water i made some scratches:

Another try, now using some hairspray and smalls debris:

Again a coat with water diluted paint:

And after dry:

The last try was made with water and salt:

The final results depends what kind of paint is used.

If is used some Vallejo water solved paint:

If is used some Tamiya thinner solved paint:

I conclude that the final result is a lot better with the tamyia paint.
